Federal Road Safety Corps Begins Recruitment

The Federal road safety Corps is a Federal para-military organization in Nigeria. The commission is in charge of road traffic administration, issuance of drivers license and overall road safety management. The corps is currently recruiting young and qualified individuals into the following cadres of the corps;

Job Description and Qualification

Below are the description and qualification for each of the positions mentioned above;

Office Cadre (Assistant Route Commander)

Job type: Full time.
Location: Any state in Nigeria.
Qualification: Candidates must possess a first degree (BA/BSC/HND) from a recognized institution in any of the following discipline;

1. Law.
2. Medicine.
3. Nursing.
4. Physiotherapy.
5. Laboratory Science.
6. Psychology.
7. Engineering.
8. Mathematics.
9. Statistics.
10. Insurance/Actuarial Science.
11. Computer Science.
12. Information and Communication Technology.
13. Physical and Health Education.
14. Accounting.
15. Management Sciences.
16. Environmental Sciences.
17. Mass Communication.
18. Social Sciences and Humanities.

An NYSC discharge certificate and the candidate must not be more than 30 years old.

Officer MBBS Cadre

Job type: Full time.
Location: Any state in Nigeria.
Qualification: Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in medicine from a recognized institution. An NYSC discharge certificate.

Marshal Inspectorate Cadre

There are three available options in this cadre. The Marshal Inspectorate 1 (MI-1), Marshal Inspectorate II (MI-II) and Marshal Inspectorate III (MI-III).

Marshal Inspectorate I

Job type: Full time.
Location: Any state in Nigeria.
Qualification: A Higher National Diploma from a recognized institution, Registered nurse, and midwife, NYSC discharge certificate. Applicants must not be more than 30 years old.

Marshal Inspectorate II

Job type: Full time.
Location: Any state in Nigeria.
Qualification: A Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE certificate), Registered nurses and midwives can also apply. Candidates must not be above 28 years old.

Marshal Inspectorate III

Job type: Full time.
Location: Any state in Nigeria.
Qualification: A National diploma certificate (OND) or Community Health Extension Worker certificate (CHEW). Candidate must not be more than 28 years old.

Road Marshal Assistant

There are to categories here; the road Marshal Assistant II and III.

Road Marshal Assistant II

Job type: Full time.
Location: Any state in Nigeria.
Qualification: At least 5 credits in either SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB which must include English Language and Mathematics. Applicants must not be more than 27 years of age.

Road Marshal Assistant III

Job type: Full time.
Location: Any state in Nigeria.
Qualification: At least three credits in either SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB. Applicants must not be more than 27 years of age.

Tradesmen can also apply as they fall into the category of the Road Marshal Assistant Cadre. Candidates in this category must possess a trade test or professional certificates. Drivers and bikers can apply with a driving license. Candidates in this category must also possess at least 4 passes in either SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB to apply.

General Requirements for FRSC Recruitment

Here are other requirements for the Federal road safety corps (FRSC) exercise;

1. Candidate must be a Nigerian by birth.
2. must not be below 18 years old or above 30 years old. Check the qualification of the different cadres for the age specification.
3. Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for paramilitary training and engagement.
4. The required height is from 1.68 meters for males and 1.63 meters for females. Wikihow has an article on how to measure your height by yourself.
5. All candidates must provide a certificate of fitness from a government hospital.

However, candidates should take note of the following;

1. FRSC recruitment exercise is free.
2. Any certificate or qualification not presented at the time of the FRSC recruitment exercise cannot be tendered for career progression as time goes on.
3. Computer literacy and possession of a valid drivers license is an added advantage to the candidate.
4. Candidates with false documents and information will be disqualified and prosecuted.
5. Double entries would be disqualified.
6. Shortlisted candidates will take a computer-based test to be conducted by JAMB.
7. Shortlisted candidates will take a drug test with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
